The Viking Trail
This is the land the Vikings discovered a thousand years ago! The Viking Trail stretches all the way from Newfoundland's west coast to Southern Labrador. It has always been a part of maratime culture - it is the land that was utilized by 16th century Basque whalers and by Sir Wilfred Grenfell, a medical missionary of the early 20th century. The area surrounding The Viking Trail is awe inspiring. This land is home to some of the planet's rarest plants grow, it is a place where wildlife abounds in the forests and rivers and it is a window into the past where 10,000 year old icebergs sail across the horizon. Visit the Viking Trail Website to find out more about the history of The Viking Trail.
